The minority side of the Kisii County Assembly, comprised of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and the Taifa Democratic Coalition—made up of the Kenya National Congress, Kenya Social Congress, and People's Democratic Party—has vowed to remain steadfast in its oversight role within the assembly.

Speaking to the press at a Kisii hotel, Dennis Ombachi, the leader of the minority and the MCA for Marani Ward, stated that they are undeterred and will remain vigilant on behalf of the public.

Ombachi emphasized their commitment to engaging the County Executive on developmental matters affecting residents.

Benjamin Gisore, the Chairman of the Taifa Democratic Coalition, encouraged MCAs to stay focused on their oversight responsibilities.

He called on the County Executive to respect the members of the County Assembly when they perform their oversight duties.

Dolphine Bwari, a nominated MCA under the UDA party, lamented the low absorption rate of Kisii County funds, which has caused the devolved unit to lag behind in terms of development and service delivery.


Environmental Laws

Residents have been urged to adhere to existing environmental laws and regulations to mitigate adverse impacts on livelihoods and water availability. The call was made during a tree planting exercise at Kisii Special School in Kitutu Central ward, Kitutu Chache South Constituency, Kisii County.

Bursary Forms Disappointment

Nyakoe  residents turned up in large numbers to receive bursary forms   at the ward office to utter disappointment. Distribution of the forms  potential beneficiaries never happened at least for the better part of the day.
